Groomingdale's of Austin is the newest venture of Tomay Ryder. Groomingdale's is Tomay’s latest work in a career that spans over 20 years, and encompasses virtually every aspect of the grooming business. She grew up an 'AirForce brat', having spent her earlier years in many different states and overseas in London, England. Her father's retirement brought her back to Texas, and ultimately to Austin.

She learned the art of all breed grooming apprenticing for her brother, as well as a sister who has a well established, successful grooming salon in Conroe, Texas, 'Bark Avenue'.

Tomay's reputation for excellent results, reasonable prices, and personal integrity has been earned one beautiful groom at a time. Her love for animals extends beyond her canine grooming expertise, as she also specializes cat grooming.

She brings a highly successful training methodology which has produced several independently successful groomers within the past many years, and has a well established track record for managing successful, positive, and profitable grooming shops with a strong emphasis on customer service.

Tomay contributes the "Ask the Groomer" column in the Austin Pet Directory each month, as well as volunteers as an expert in cat grooming and coat care on the site, allexperts.com, answering questions from cat owners around the world.
